The MCU-04 has an additional serial port located on the side. This port allows the control to interface with an IBM personal computer. It can also be programmed using a pocket programmer. Users of the SKPC must reorder the MCU-04.

The MCU-04 also has an auxiliary supply rated at 10-14 vdc @ 100 ma.
